Switching from fluorescent lighting to LED lighting is a great energy saver. Four-foot long LED tube lights take only 15-18 watts each, versus standard T8/T5 tubes, which take 32-40 watts each. Installing LED lights also means disconnecting the ballast on each fixture, saving an additional 8-25 watts per fixture. Additionally, your maintenance costs drop dramatically, as LED tubes have an average life span of 50,000 hours or 5 years.
